Geography / Reading
Connection
Our class has been reading Timothy of the Cay in conjunction with their geographical study of Latin America. The following activity required the students to use the atlas portion of their geography books to locate islands and countries mentioned in the story. For example, on page 5 a ship captain describes the location of "the cay" as "175 miles off the coasts of Honduras and Nicaragua."
