Columbus Elementary School is a historical landmark in Madison County. Established in 1896, it is the oldest school still serving students in the county, educating Edwardsville Community Unit School District 7 students for more than a century.

The school is located in a beautiful neighborhood on Kansas Street, a block east of downtown Edwardsville. Columbus Elementary serves students in third, fourth, and fifth grades, with an approximate enrollment of 420 students. Leclaire and Goshen Elementary Schools are two primary buildings (K-2) that feed into Columbus School.

A strong, collaborative home/school partnership is a rich tradition of Columbus School. Together, school staff and families work diligently to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for students to experience academic growth and success.
