Seniors & Graduating Juniors- I am preparing the program for graduation & I need your assistance in providing important information. Please pick up a “pink” scholarship form in Main Office on Spiny thing and list your scholarships that you will be using. Please return “pink” form to Mrs. Wessel in Main Office by May 13 to assure that the scholarship you listed will be in the graduation program. IF YOU DO GET ANOTHER SCHOLARSHIP AFTER MAY 13TH, PLEASE CHECK WITH ME JUST IN CASE I CAN STILL PUT IT IN THE PROGRAM.

Business Professionals of America compete at State Leadership Conference in Oak Brook
Congratulations to Business Professionals of America for a very successful State Leadership Conference. Ron Yates earned 2nd place in the state in Computer Network Technology, and Lucas Hendren earned 2nd place in Microsoft Network Administration. Lucas Hendren, Chirag Patel, and Graham Schloesser took 1st place in Presentation Management Team. These students all qualified for national competition. Edward Scott was awarded the Paul Contos Leadership Scholarship. Finally, many thanks go to our State Officers, Jaisel Patel and Stephanie Sandifer, for their leading roles in planning and executing the conference.

Congratulations to the Edwardsville High School Science Olympiad Team which competed in the Regional Tournament held at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville on Saturday. First Place winners included Josiah Accola and Lucas Hendron for Dynamic Planet. Austin Skaggs and Lucas Hendron were awarded 2nd place for Technical Problem Solving. Third place awards went to Alex Harper and Nick Huddle for Ecology, and Sean Terry and Nick Huddle for Mousetrap Vehicle. Great job team!

If you ordered a yearbook and are not sure if you paid, please check the list in the media center windows. If your name is listed you still need to pay for the yearbook. This can be done online through the EHS web site. If you have not paid for your yearbook you not get one at the end of the year. If you have any questions please see Mr. Kessler or Mr. Dando.

The Doris Dankenbring Memorial Nursing Scholarship is being offered to graduating seniors who are embarking on a career in nursing. Applications are available in the guidance office. Application deadline is March 19, 2010.
The Kiwanis Club of Edwardsville is providing two scholarships for high school seniors who plan to pursue vocational careers. The award is for those students planning to pursue occupations in such diverse fields as the secretarial field, health related occupations, beauticians, electricians, carpenters, machinists, etc. Applications are available in the guidance office. The Greater Edwardsville Area Community Foundation Fine Arts Scholarship is being offered to high school seniors for talented students in the fine arts to pursue a post-secondary education in the fine arts, with the intent of aspiring to a career in the fine arts. The Society of American Military Engineer Academic Scholarship is being offered to high school seniors who plan to pursue degrees in engineering, architecture, or other engineering related studies in college in the fall of 2010. The Edwardsville American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 199 is accepting scholarship applications to high school graduates. The United Steelworkers are offering the First Annual Soar Scholarship Award to graduating seniors whose parent or legal guardian are a child or grandchild of an active SOAR (Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees) member and be seeking a degree in the medical care and well-being of senior citizens. Illinois Lumber and Material Dealers Association Educational Foundation are offering a scholarship high school senior who will be pursuing industry-related course work at colleges and universities. These scholarships will assist and encourage qualified students to further or continue their interest in selecting the lumber and building materials field as a career. The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving high school senior student who will be attending a college where they will be involved in sports. All senior student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The website for this scholarship is available in the guidance office.
