Daily Announcements

  Attention Graduates: On Monday, November 27, during Period 1, there will be a cap & gown assembly in the auditorium for all graduating students.  Jostens will provide information about caps, gowns, and other graduation items. All seniors and graduating juniors are to first report on time to their Period 1 classes for attendance.  At approximately 7:45, you will be called via the P.A. system to report to the auditorium. On Thursday and Friday, November 30 and December 1, Jostens will be here during Period 4 for graduates to place their cap and gown orders during their scheduled lunch periods.

 

  Are you a fan of Hip Hop?  Do you like to dance, with your friends or by yourself? Do you possess a positive attitude & free spirit? Then Souls of Art is just for you. Meet us in the commons on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2pm. Dont be shy! We got you covered. For more info see Ms. Coleman in the guidance office!

 

  Attention all NEHS members: Pick up an agenda in Mrs. Warners room to stay informed on what is happening this month. There will be no full group meeting this month.

 

  Talent Show Tryouts are Dec. 5 after school in the orchestra room?  Students should sign up outside of A229. 

 

  Any freshman or sophomore boy not involved in a winter sport that would be interested in joining the bowling team should see Coach Wilderman ASAP.

 

 Attention Class of 2020: Many of you ordered class of 2020 shirts last year from the Freshmen Council.  The orders were taken during the week of February 27 through March 3rd.The shirt was a long sleeve black shirt with print on the front and back and the price was $15. If you ordered and paid for a shirt last year, please come and see Dr. Schlueter to fill out a new order form.  This is only for those students who ordered and paid for the shirt last year and did not receive one.

You can come to the office and fill out a new order for today through Thursday, November 9.We will then place the order and get your shirts.

 

Anyone interested in learning or sharing knowledge about International Business is invited to join Business Professionals of America this and all Tuesdays after school in Mrs. Harris's room A-226. 

 

 Are you part of the LGBT community? Do you know & support anyone in the LGBT community? If yes, then Spectrum may be right for you! Spectrum is held on Wednesdays at 2pm in room 209.

 

 Do you want to become bilingual? Join us for sign language club on Thursday in B164 at 2pm! No previous knowledge of sigh language is necessary. Hope to see you there!

 

 The EHS Broadcasting Club is looking for new members to help produce the Friday morning video announcements, stream and record sporting events, and creates awesome videos for a variety of other events. No prior experience is required. If you are interested in joining the EHS Broadcasting Club, please see Mr. Antrim in A224.

 

 Do you have interest in promoting civil liberties and democracy? Then join Democrat Club. Meetings are held Tuesdays after school in Mr. Paurs room (A235). We will discuss politics, current events, and debate. If you have any questions, contact Club President Chris Byron or the clubs sponsor Mr. Paur.

 

  Do you like watching anime? Do you like hanging out with friends and discussing anime? Then Pokmon Go to Anime Club! Meetings are Thursdays from 2-4pm in room A215. See you there!

 

 Lit Mag meets on Thursdays after school to document the creative and literary scene here at EHS. If youre interested in joining, meet on Thursday in A216 at 2.

 

If you are interested in traveling to Peru and the Amazon next summer, stop by A226 and see Mrs. Harris.

 

The spirit store will be open during lunch periods in the concession area in the cafeteria until the end of the school year.

COLLEGE VISITS FOR NOVEMBER

The Air Force ROTC recruiter will have a table set up in the lobby during the lunch hours on Friday, November 17th.

A representative from Lewis University will be in the guidance office on Tuesday, November 28th during 2nd hour.

A recruiter from West Point will have a table set up in the lobby during the lunch hours on Monday, November 20th.

COLLEGE VISITS FOR DECEMBER

A representative from Illinois Wesleyan will be in the guidance office on Tuesday, December 7th during 5th hour.

 

ANY JUNIOR OR SENIOR WHO WISH TO SEE ANY OF THE ABOVE COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVES, SHOULD GET A PASS FROM THE GUIDANCE OFFICE BEFORE THE VISIT.

 

SCHOLARSHIPS:

The Home Builders Association Professional Women in Building are offering a scholarship to encourage qualified women students to continue their interest in the construction related career path which may include construction management, construction technology, civil engineering, architect, design, or any of the trade specialities at the college trade school or university they attend.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is March 31, 2018.

Vantage Credit Union is offering scholarships to their high school credit union members.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is January 5, 2018.

The Tuskegee Airmen, Incorporated is offering a scholarship to deserving young men and women high school seniors based on academic achievement, extracurricular and community activities, relative financial need, recommendations, and both essays to competitively rank applicants.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is January 26, 2018.

Cadagin-Prosser Financial Group is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who plan to attend a college or university in the fall of 2018.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is January 31, 2018.

Edwardsville Community Foundation Fine Arts Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who intend to pursue a career in the fine arts. For the purposes of this scholarship, the fine arts are defined as visual arts (sculpture, graphic, paint, fabric, etc), performing arts (theatre production, technical assistance, film, etc) and music (vocal, band, and orchestra). Applications are available in the guidance office. Application deadline is January 30, 2018.

Edwardsville Community Foundation Mark Speciale Family Vocational Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors to intend to pursue an education in a trade or vocational school starting in the Fall of 2018. Applications are available in the guidance office. Application deadline is January 30, 2018.

Edwardsville Community Foundation TheBANK of Edwardsville Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who are continuing their education beyond high school at a university, college, trade, or vocational school. Applications are available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is January 31, 2018.

Lewis and Clark Community College is offering more than 100 scholarships to high school seniors for the 2018-2019 academic year. Information on how to apply is available in the guidance office. You can also visit www.lc.edu/scholarships and click "Apply Now." After applying to L&C, complete our short online application and youll be automatically matched to all eligible scholarships. Application deadline is March 3, 2018.

Burger King Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and who are active in their community through volunteering, sports, clubs and/or religious organizations. The Illinois Amvets Service Foundation is offering 20 scholarships to high school seniors for the 2018-2019 academic year. Visit www.ilamvets.org to learn more and apply. The Notre Dame Club of St. Louis is offering a scholarship to 4 high school seniors in the St. Louis area who have a strong desire to attend the University of Notre Dame. Information on how to apply is available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is April 9, 2017.

The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis BJC Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who are continuing their education at a public college or university in state or out-of-state that is offering in state tuition. Applicants will be evaluated on financial need, strength of character, and academic potential. To apply, please visit www.myscholarshipcentral.org. Applications will NOT be available until January 1, 2018. Application deadline is April 16, 2018.

Edwardsville Community Foundation The Mildred A. Carr Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who are continuing their education beyond high school at a college or vocational school. Student must have attended Edwardsville High School all 4 years with at least a 2.5 GPA. Applications are available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is January 31, 2018.

Edwardsville Community Foundation Dennis DeToye Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who are continuing their education as a Visual Arts Major. Applications are available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is January 30, 2018.

Edwardsville Community Foundation Goshen Rotary Scholarship is offering two scholarships to high school seniors who plan to continue their education at a college, university, or vocational school as a full-time student. This scholarship looks to excellence in academics as well as positive leadership in extra-curricular and community activities. Applications are available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is January 30, 2018.

Edwardsville Community Foundation Ryan Garbs Gold Star Memorial Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who plan to continue their education with the intent of becoming police or law enforcement or to major in Criminal Justice. Applications are available in the guidance office.  Application deadline is January 30, 2018.

Edwardsville Community Foundation Connor Cunningham Music Performance Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who are talented in music performance and plan to pursue a post-secondary education in music performance with the intent of aspiring to a career in, or related to, music performance. Edwardsville Community Foundation Gerald Bradley Music Education Scholarship is offering a scholarship to high school seniors who are interested in continuing their post-secondary education in music education.
