"History is a guide to navigation in perilous times. History is who we are

and why we are the way we are."

- David C. McCullough

Mr. Parkin dressed as a private in the 1st Infantry Regiment, United States Army, War of 1812.

American History, a course required of all juniors, enables students to gain a better understanding of how American society has developed in an effort to determine where it may be going.  In order for a person to be an informed and active citizen of our republic, they need to know its history, traditions, and customs.

The textbook we currently use is America - Pathways to the Present, published by Prentice Hall of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey.
