General
Provision:
1)
We
always have a parent assistant at the water and first aide station
to assist students. They have wet towels, general medical supplies
(like band aids, tums, sunscreen, and etc)
2)
We have
a misting system that allows students to cool off during breaks.
3)
Students bring umbrellas and are encouraged to wear hats to protect
themselves from getting sunburn.
4)
We have
different cold treats for them on certain days to help cool off.
These treat days also allow for longer breaks to give the students a
chance to reenergize and rest before returning to the field.
5)
There
are always staff members of the field with the students to help
monitor them.
6)
The
rehearsal schedule is from 1 – 9pm with a break from 3:30 to 5pm to
allow students to rest before coming back to camp. This allows the
students to also be out of the heat during the hottest time of the
day.
7)
Students are encouraged to wear hats and put on plenty of sunscreen.
8)
We
always have our cell phones with us incase there is a situation,
parents and proper medical personnel can quickly come to our
assistance.
9)
Letters
and other information is sent out to the parents and students prior
to band camp to give them helpful hints and information on how to
stay healthy and hydrated during these two weeks.
