On April 20, 1999, the Edwardsville City Council approved the request by the Edwardsville Police Department to establish the Edwardsville Police Explorer Post 9999. This program, in conjunction with the National Exploring Program of the Boy Scouts of America, is a non-for-profit organization that assists in expanding the interests of youths in the field of law enforcement.
The posts advisory committee consists of police officers from the Edwardsville Police Department and citizens from the community.

Who is Involved?
Young men and women from the Edwardsville Community and neighboring communities who are between the ages of 14 and 20 years old. These young people have a career interest in law enforcement and a desire to learn more about the field.
