Sgt. Charles Kohlberg

Hello,
I am Sgt. Charles Kohlberg of the Edwardsville Police
Dept. I have been employed with the Edwardsville Police
Dept. since March of 1998. Prior to my career as a law
enforcement officer with the Edwardsville Police
Department I obtained my Associates of Applied Science
Degree in Administration of Justice from Southwestern
Illinois College.
My career with the
Edwardsville Police Department began with formal Law
Enforcement training at the Illinois State Police
Academy in Springfield, Illinois.
I have served the
Edwardsville Police Department as a Patrol Officer,
Bicycle Patrol Officer, Juvenile Officer, Shift
Commander, Ward Officer, and as a School Resource
Officer (SRO). I received training to become an SRO with
Corbin & Associates prior to serving as an SRO at
Liberty Middle School and Edwardsville High School.
Beginning in the
2006/2007 school year, I have been given an opportunity
to continue a working relationship with the Edwardsville
School District as the School Resource Officer
Coordinator for Edwardsville Schools.
I look forward to
continuing the excellent partnership that has been
established between the Edwardsville School District and
the Edwardsville Police Department through the
Edwardsville Police Department’s School Resource Officer
program. The Edwardsville Police Department School
Resource Officer’s will continue to strive to provide
students with a safe and secure learning environment.

Bruce
Shrodes is employed by the Edwardsville Police
Department. My work experience has been as a patrol
officer, investigations, and currently an Edwardsville
High School Resource Officer since 1995. I have a
college degree in criminal justice. I can be contacted

Kent Fant - Worden
Alternative High School Resource Officer |
Hello,
my name is Kent Fant and I have been employed as a
police officer for the City of Edwardsville since 1988.
During my law enforcement career I have served as a
Patrol Officer, K-9 Officer, Patrol Shift Commander,
Field Training Officer, EMT and now I am assigned as the
School Resource Officer for Edwardsville Alternative
High School.
I have an
associate degree in Administration of Justice and
received my Law Enforcement Training at the Illinois
State Police Academy. I have also received special
training as a Juvenile Officer and a School Resource
Officer

Officer Joy Davis -
Lincoln School Resource Officer |
Hello, my name is Officer
Joy Davis
and I have been employed
as a police officer for the City of Edwardsville since
1997. During my law enforcement career I have served as
a Patrol Officer, Bicycle Officer, Ward Officer, P.A.C.T.
Camp Instructor, Youth Academy Instructor and now have
the privilege to serve as the School Resource Officer
for Lincoln Middle School.
My undergraduate work was done at
Joliet
Junior College and Western Illinois University. I
received my Law Enforcement Training at the Police
Training Institute in Champaign, Illinois and have also
received special training as an Illinois Juvenile
Officer and D.A.R.E. Instructor, in addition to
Corbin and Associates S.R.O. training.
As an SRO, we are specifically trained to perform three
roles: law enforcement officer; law-related counselor;
and law-related education teacher. I will be a visible
active law enforcement figure on campus dealing with any
law-related issues and available as a classroom resource
for instruction in law related education, violence
diffusion, safety programs, alcohol and drug prevention,
crime prevention and other areas. I look forward to
working with all of you to solve whatever concerns or
problems may arise within our school community.

Officer Chris Taylor

Hello,
my name is Chris Taylor and I have been employed as a
police officer for the City of Edwardsville since 1989.
During my law enforcement career I have served as Patrol
Officer, Detective, Patrol Shift Commander, D.A.R.E.
Officer, Youth Academy Instructor and a School Resource
Officer.
My undergraduate
work was done at
Illinois
State University and
Southern
Illinois University at Edwardsville. I received my
Law Enforcement Training at the
Illinois State Police Academy, Springfield,
Illinois. I have also received special training as an
Illinois Juvenile Officer, D.A.R.E. Instructor, in
addition to
Corbin and Associates S.R.O. training.
I began working in
the Edwardsville Schools in 1998 as a D.A.R.E.
Instructor. I began my duty as a S.R.O. in January of
2001 at the Alternative High School, and am currently
assigned at Liberty Middle School. I continue to
instruct D.A.R.E. at Liberty, and coordinate the The
Edwardsville D.A.R.E. Auto show. I have enjoyed working
with the Edwardsville Schools. I have established
excellent rapport with teachers, staff, and the
students. The interaction between the students and
myself as an S.R.O. has been positive and rewarding, and
has helped create a positive atmosphere.
