Illinois State Board of Education Makes Changes to ISAT Performance Levels

Posted: September 11,2013

Illinois schools will see a decline in their students' ISAT performance level (Exceeds, Meets, Below Standards, and Academic Warning) at the elementary and middle school levels. This change is similar to changing a grading scale where 90-100 was considered an A, and now the scale is changed to 94-100 to achieve an A. The State of Illinois has raised the bar for all students. On behalf of the staff, I want to welcome you to our Lincoln Middle School web site. It is our goal to ensure that all students have opportunities for social, emotional, and physical growth, as well as intellectual development.

Our theme for the 2013-14 school year, which was developed by our Prevention Program, is See The Bigger Picture. We at Lincoln truly believe that when we work together as a community that anything is possible.

We have high expectations for our students and will work hard to create an environment where they can excel. These expectations include those related to academic performance and student behavior. This is where we can use your help. I invite you to get involved in what is going on within our school and to communicate any concerns or ideas.

In addition to our daily announcements and information about after school activities, bus routes, and athletics, we have included our student and parent handbooks on our site. These documents contain policies and procedures, as well as information about opportunities for our students to participate in a variety of programs. We urge parents to read this information thoroughly and to discuss it with your children.

If you have any questions, I may be reached by phone at 618.656.0485 or by email at sstuart@ecusd7.org.

Sincerely,

Dr. Steve Stuart
Principal

Student Pick-up/Drop-off Procedures

Posted: April 12, 2010

Your child’s safety is of the utmost importance to us at Lincoln Middle School. Please review the following procedures for dropping off or picking up your children at Lincoln Middle School.

When dropping off students, please utilize the drop-off lanes in either the upper parking lot between Lincoln and Woodland or the circle drive off of West Street. While it is also permissible to pick up at either spot in the afternoon, there is very little parking available in the circle drive. You may find it more convenient to pick up your child in the upper parking lot. From 7:30-8:20 a.m. and 2:30-3:15 p.m., during student delivery and pick up times, the gym parking lot is closed to vehicular traffic. Students are exiting and boarding buses, and for safety reasons, we ask that you not try to enter or park in this lot at those times.

If you have any questions I may be reached by phone at 618.656.0485 or by email at sstuart@ecusd7.org.
