Glen Carbon School is one of the PreK-2 primary buildings in the Edwardsville Unit School District #7. Our building is home to over 360 Mighty Miners at this time.

The students who attend Glen Carbon School through second grade will attend Woodland or Albert Cassens Elementary for their third, fourth and fifth grade year. We are very proud of the education we have to offer the students at Glen Carbon School. The parent support in our building makes all the wonderful activities offered to the children possible.

First Annual Walk for Cancer

The Glen Carbon School Relay for Life team put on their first annual Walk for Cancer Tuesday, April 17, 2012. The students earned over $4,400.00 in support of Relay for Life. Each classroom walked for 30 minutes and raised money through donations for their efforts. This special day puts the team well on its way to their goal of $5,000.00. In celebration of all their generosity the students were able enjoy snow cones, and more importantly turn four teachers from the school into ice cream sundaes. Glen Carbon School wants to say thank you Mrs. McDaniel, Mrs. Zywicki, Mrs. Jennings and Mrs. Roney for becoming an ice cream sundae. Thank you Glen Carbon families for supporting Relay for Life. What a great day for a great cause!

Read and Run Marathon 2012

Glen Carbon School celebrated the completion of the Read and Run Marathon activity by running the final mile of their year long journey. Over 65 students read 26 books, did 26 miles of exercise, and ate 26 healthy snacks. The students ran their last mile through the streets of Glen Carbon as a culminating activity to their year long marathon.
