The Principal's Corner

12/12 - Nelson

Dear Leclaire Parent,

It is hard to believe that the school year is almost halfway over.  I hope that your conferences went well.  As a parent, I am always thrilled to hear great things about my children.  You always hope that they leave home and remember what you’ve taught them at home.  Providing a loving nurturing environment gives kids a wonderful head start.

I have been talking to the students lately about Young Author's books.  My hope is that we get a lot of participation this year.

Talk to your child about setting reasonable goals and timelines for creating the book, if they are indeed interested.

This task can be overwhelming if not taken in small reasonable steps.  The following are steps to goal setting:

  • Make a DECISION
  • Decide WHEN to do it
  • PLAN how to get it done
  • SHARE with someone else that you will do it
  • REPORT your progress

Hopefully, this will help you, to help your child create a fantastic story!
