Morning Routine

Every morning I meet with students in the gym. I restate the expectations, recognize students and give students a chance to shine by providing an opportunity for them to share what they have learned. It is a fun time for community building in our school.   When the morning meeting is over at 9:10, students are dismissed to go with their teacher to the classroom.

Arrival and Dismissal

Students should not be dropped off earlier than 8:45 a.m., unless they are enrolled in Latchkey. Latchkey services are offered through the Edwardsville YMCA, but housed at the school. Students being dropped off can enter through the front doors. Bus riders enter through the supervised drop off area downstairs. Parents can drive through and drop off at the front in the mornings.

In the afternoon, bus students are taken to the gym. Students may also be picked up from the front entrance. Teachers escort students to the front entrance where they are handed off to parents. The teacher and the parent should make direct contact with each other. For the safety of all involved, we ask that you park and walk up to the doors. Only busses are allowed through the front drive from 3:20 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Kindergarten, Pre-Kindergarten, and Early Childhood students use the front entrance near the west end of the building.

Volunteerism and Partnership

As your school principal, I value a healthy and communicative relationship. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions, concerns or suggestions. The students are the reason that I am here. I encourage you to get involved with your child’s education by volunteering in the classroom and with the PTO. Together, we form a strong team with the same interest: your child.
