Eighth grade students at Liberty Middle School honored our nation's veterans on Monday, Nov. 10

Posted: November 13,2014

In preparation for the school's eighth annual Veterans' Day Breakfast, students created a Veteran Wall of Honor, banners honoring the five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and banners describing the six wars or conflicts in which our nation's military has proudly served. In addition, students used the Library of Congress's Veterans History Project to report on veterans' stories of courage and honor to create a display to educate the school and community about the sacrifices these brave soldiers made. Following the breakfast, Congressman John Shimkus addressed the students and their guests describing the dedication that our country's veterans have displayed through their willingness to serve in the various branches of our armed forces.
