School Arrival and Departure

When walking to and from Vicksburg, please remember to show respectful behavior toward the property of others. Please use the sidewalks, do not cut through yards and do not climb the fence. 

Please assist us in keeping students and staff safe by adhering to the following guidelines.

For 4:30PM - 4:45PM student pick up

For morning and afternoon drop-off and pick-up

School Policies

Electronics Policy
Students, please be reminded that ALL electronics should be powered off before school begins. They should be stored in your locker during the school day. Make sure your locker is secured with a lock. Consequences will be given if phones are used during the day or if they disturb class.

Check Cashing Policy
Neither the Main Office nor the Cafeteria has funds available for cashing checks for students. Students should bring separate checks for payment of lunches, PE uniforms, Activity Fees, and/or FIT/GO collections.  If you have any questions, you may contact our bookkeeper Darlene Wessel, in the Main Office.  Thank You for your cooperation.

Security Measures
In an effort to keep our school safe, any visitor to our school needs to show photo I.D. when entering the building.  Please be aware of this security measure.  Also, once school begins for the day, all doors entering our building are locked with the exception of the main door. This is the door you must use to enter our building.

Before School Rules
Please remember that 6th and 7th grade students are to be in the large gym until the bell rings at 7:50.  The 8th graders need to have a seat in the Commons until the bell rings at 7:50.No students are allowed to be anywhere in the building, including their lockers, until 7:50.  Students who wish to eat breakfast should report the Commons and stay there until the 7:50 bell rings.

Activity Buses
There is one activity bus run available for students needing transportation from after-school activities.  The run is at 4:45PM.  The four buses arrive at school at 4:35 PM  and leave 10 minutes later at 4:45. Please note that the activity bus drop-off points are not necessarily the same as on the regular after-school runs.  Students should go to one of the buses, inform the bus driver of their address, and he/she will tell them which bus to board.

If you are planning to go to the Y after school, please pay attention to the following rules.

  1. Parental permission will be required.  Students, who want to attend, must have a note from a parent. The note must be turned into the office by 1:00 PM on the day the student is requesting to attend.  
  2. You must be a member of the YMCA to attend. 
  3. The crossing guard will check students off a list prior to escorting them across the street.  Students who are not on the approved list will not be allowed to cross to the YMCA.
  4. Students are not allowed to return to Liberty Middle School when they are finished at the YMCA. They may not come back to ride the 4:45PM Activity bus.  It will be your parent’s responsibility to provide transportation from the YMCA.

The YMCA will provide a great opportunity for you; however, I am very concerned about the safety of all of our students as they cross the street to attend the Y.  These guidelines will be strictly enforced to ensure that all students can safely cross Goshen Road.

Daily Announcements

Selling any item to another student at school without permission is prohibited. Students not complying with this rule will be referred to the office and/or Officer Renth.

Students may not open doors for students to enter the building from any entrance other than front doors. Bike riders & walkers may enter from the back doors which are unlocked until 7:50am. 

After School Tutoring: There will be a sign-up sheet in the main office. You must sign up upon your arrival to the school building in the morning. This will be a place where you can go to sit quietly and complete homework. Also, if you need tutoring or assistance in a specific subject, assignment, or project, you must ask your teacher for a referral and they will email your name and the assignment to the main office. Your name will be put on the list to get tutoring that afternoon. Computer use will not be allowed during tutoring unless a student has a signed note from a teacher that states the assignment that requires computer use for that evening. Tutoring will be from 3:00-4:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You are to have a seat in the hallway outside of the media center by 2:55. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Foster in the main office.

Spring Pictures – Pictures are due in the main office.  Students please check your locker and return them to the main office.  Payment of pictures is also due at this time.

Art Projects – Students please stop by the Art room for your projects you made this quarter.

G.O. Summer Camp – Forms and payment for this summer’s G.O. leadership camp should be returned to the main office by the last day of school. Students needing additional information should see Mr. Tschudy.

Special Olympics Peer Partner – If you are interested in being a peer partner for Special Olympics sports, please see Mrs. Crumbacher for information.

Cross Country – Any 6th or 7th grader interested in participating in cross-country next school year should stop by Coach Bevis’ room C109, to pick up information.

Library Books – All library books and media center items are now due. Please check your backpacks, lockers, and classrooms for any of these items and return to the media center.

Golf Summer Camp- any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade golfer interested in attending a summer camp put on by EHS, please stop by Mrs. Koonce’s room for additional details. This camp is for boys and girls.

YEARBOOKS – There are still a few yearbooks available. Please pay $50 in cash to Mrs. Wessel in the main office.

Relay for Life - Luminarias honor every life touched by cancer. You can dedicate them to a loved one lost, someone currently battling, or anyone who’s overcome it. When you attend a Relay event, you’ll see the Luminarias decorated with names and sometimes messages to the people they’re dedicated to. After dark, Relay participants share an emotional moment when each Luminaria is lit in remembrance of a life touched by cancer. Together, we take a moment of silence to remember the loved ones they’re dedicated to. When you make a donation for a Luminaria it helps fund the American Cancer Society’s mission to help save lives. (info take from If you would like to purchase a Luminaria please see Mrs. Bickhaus in the main office or Mrs. Guetterman in room B116.  The cost is $10 per Luminaria. 

Bracelets for Emma – classmate Emma was recently diagnosed with Leukemia.  Bracelets will be sold during lunches for $3. All proceeds donated will be given to Emma and her family.
