After School Volunteer Opportunity- Students signed up to attend the Glen/Ed Pantry from 3:00-5:00 p.m. tonight should meet Mr. Parker in the Prevention Office immediately after school.
GEMS
Any girl interested in attending the GEMS conference (Girls Empowered by Math and Science) needs to register for the event by March 13. The conference is March 20. You may register on-line at www.gemsconference.com. Please see Mrs. Beyers, room 204, for more information.
Attention all orchestra participants of IGSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest
You will be rehearsing with the accompanist this week on Wednesday (March 10th). Be sure you pick up the sheet that tells you what time you are to practice with the accompanist.

WASHINGTON D.C. TRIP MEETING
There will be a meeting at Liberty Middle School on Thursday, March 25th at 6:30 P.M. in the auditorium for any student who is going on the Washington D.C. trip in April.
6TH, 7TH, AND 8TH GRADE CHOIR STUDENTS
Please stop by Ms. H's classroom (201) sometime this week to pick up a field trip form to see Peter Pan at the high school on 3/18. Please return your completed & signed form to Ms. H by 3/16!!!
**The forms are located outside the doors: 6th grade choir is on lavender colored paper, and 7th/8th grade choir is on light blue colored paper.
VOCAL SOLO & ENSEMBLE STUDENTS
Please turn in any unpaid fees and sign-up for practice times! Please stop by Ms. H's classroom (201) on Wednesday afternoon or anytime Thursday to pick up an information packet with your performance time & maps/directions to Coolidge Middle School. The info. packets will be located outside room 201- please pick up only the packet with your name on it!!! Keep practicing on your own! Contest is on Saturday 3/13!
CHORUS SOLO & ENSEMBLE STUDENTS
Please pay your contest fees and accompanist fees to Ms. H as soon as possible! Keep practicing- the contest date is Saturday 3/13!
JAZZ CHOIR- Please stop by and see Ms. H sometime this week to get a practice calendar for rehearsals between now and our concert performances in April & May! Our first rehearsal on this schedule is Monday 3/15 from 3:15-4:15pm.
ACT I
All "Lincoln Gives Back" students should come get a permission slip after school from Mrs. Plank in Room 129 for Peter Pan at the High School. This is a free dress rehearsal during the day on March 18th and should be a great show. We will be going with the chorus.
Don't forget to order your professional DVD of Lincoln Gives Back! They are $15 each and can be ordered with Mrs. Plank. This DVD will be an excellent keepsake to remember your part in the show! Order forms are available on the ACT I website or from Mrs. Plank in room 129.
Act I pictures orders are to be made online. They are REALLY great this year! Follow the link on the Act I website for ordering instructions. 10% of all picture orders will be donated to a food pantry.
CAFETERIA NEWS
Any student that has outstanding “borrows” on their account CAN NOT purchase ala carte (snack) items until all “borrows” are paid off.
SUMMER SCHOOL
Any 8th grade student who is interested in taking a high school course over the summer needs to stop by the main office and pick up the information/registration forms.
Computer Club
Computer Club will meet in March on Tuesday March 23 from 3:15-4:15 in lab 100. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Laakko.
AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING
Tutoring begins at 3:15 on Monday through Thursday from 3:15 until 4:15 in the Media Center. There is no charge. Teachers are there to help students with their homework. There is no tutoring on Fridays. Students need to sign an attendance sheet in the Media Center when they attend tutoring. Students may take the 4:30 activity bus home which will pick them up outside the main school entrance by the main office. If parents wish to pick up their children earlier than the 4:15 dismissal time, they must come into the building and sign them out in the Media Center.

The Wildcat Store is located in the bookroom (the room between the Main Office and Attendance Office). The store is open during Activity periods. The items sold are:

ART CLUB
The Art Club is an after school activity open to any seventh or eighth grade student who is interested in art. The club meets every Monday after school unless there is a school holiday. Come join us in the art room from 3:15-4:15 on Monday if you would like to be part of the club. If you have any questions see Mrs. Fries or Miss Parks, the club sponsors.
LOST AND FOUND
If you are missing something, please be sure to stop by that table and look to see if your treasure is there.
BUS SAFETY
Each bus now contains a camera and sound recording device, so please maintain proper behavior while riding to and from school.
CELL PHONES
No cell phone usage is allowed before school once you arrive on school property. Cell phones should be used after the 3:00 bell rings. All cells need to be in lockers during the school day. If you use a cell phone during the times it is not allowed, the cell phone will be taken from you and not returned until the end of the day or a parent may have to come to pick it up. Remember, texting or calling will not be allowed once you are on school property.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF
If you pick up or drop off your student at school, please be aware that you MAY NOT drop off or pick up by the gym lobby. That area is reserved for buses only. You may drop off your student at the front main entrance or use the driveway between Lincoln and Woodland schools and drive to the top. You may drop your student off there.
OPENING OUTSIDE DOORS
Students, please DO NOT open any outside door to anyone wanting to enter the building. All visitors need to enter the building at the main entrance by the main office and sign in with our security officer. Thank you for your cooperation.
SECURITY MEASURES
In an effort to keep our school safe, any visitor to our school needs to show photo I.D. when entering the building. Please be aware of this security measure. Also, once school begins for the day, all doors entering our building are locked with the exception of the main door (the entrance facing the Convenient Mart across the street). That is the door you must use to enter our building.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THEIR CELL PHONES ON THE BUSES TO OR FROM SCHOOL unless it is an emergency. Please remember that no electronic devices are allowed in school. Cell phones must be kept in lockers. Cell phones taken out during school or that ring during school will be confiscated. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE CELL PHONES IN PURSES OR POCKETS. Even on “vibrate” they are still a distraction in class.
BEFORE SCHOOL RULES
Please remember that 6th and 7th grade students are to be in the gym lobby until the bell rings at 8:05. The 8th graders need to report to the cafeteria and stay there until the 8:05 bell rings. NO STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO BE ANYWHERE IN THE BUILDING, INCLUDING THEIR LOCKERS UNTIL 8:05. Students who wish to eat breakfast should report to the cafeteria and stay there until the 8:05 bell rings.
CHECK CASHING POLICY
Neither the Main Office nor the Cafeteria has funds available for cashing checks for students. Students should bring separate checks for payment of lunches, PE uniforms, Activity Fees, FIT and/or Team collections. If you have any questions, you may contact our bookkeeper, Terri Colby, in the Main Office. Thank you for your cooperation.

DANCE
Any one interested in being in the intramural dance program starting March 16th can pick up an informational packet outside of Miss Mitchell's health room- room 120.
