Arch Field Trip

On Tuesday, November 16th, the N.O. Nelson second graders went on a field trip to the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial (the Gateway Arch) in St. Louis, Missouri. The purpose of the trip was to tour the underground museum to view artifacts from the Westward Expansion. Students viewed stuffed animals such as the buffalo, beaver, longhorn steer, and the Appaloosa horse. They saw an Indian tepee, a covered wagon, and a sod house. The students also enjoyed a movie about how the Gateway Arch was built.

The Gateway Arch soars 630 feet high.

It was a beautiful, sunny day!
