Second Grade Dinosaur Museum
During January and into February, 2000, the N.O. Nelson Elementary second graders studied dinosaurs in science. To culminate the unit and share what they had learned, they created a dinosaur museum. The second graders gave tours to other classes and invited family and friends to come to an evening open house.

showing the velociraptor puzzle

telling first graders about the lengths of the dinosaurs

telling what they know about stegosaurus

sharing facts about triceratops

demonstrating how to make a plaster fossil

relaying information about the plant-eating dinosaurs

discussing the fierce meat-eating dinosaurs

showing where fossils of different dinosaurs have been found

showing the audience the t-rex footprint

telling how to write a dino cartoon

showing the mural of the "good mother" Maiasaura Dinosaur nursery

pointing out the dinosaurs in the dioramas

standing next to the nearly life-sized allosaurus

Big bad al peaks over the stairway

our parents were amazed when they visited our museum

we wrote dinosaur stories or told facts in our pop-up books

we used clay for many experiments

taking a closer look at one of our science activities

We're glad our parents enjoyed the dinosaur museum open house.
