POWWOW
On Wednesday, November 10th the N.O. Nelson Second Graders participated in a Native American Powwow. Mrs. Burns' Class portrayed Native Americans of the Far North (the Inuit).
All dressed and ready for the Powwow.
Our paper bag costumes were trimmed with fake fur and feathers. We did patterning on the vest and on our sun visors. We made a fish cut out for the back.
Our dance was "The Duck Dance." The boys made an inner circle while the girls made an outer circle.
We sang "The Morning Star" while beating softly on drums.
All finished! We were very proud of our performance.
We closed the Powwow by singing "The Star Spangled Banner."
