Nelson's Garden

Students and teachers at N. O. Nelson Elementary have been busy preparing the soil in their new garden for Fall bulb planting.

Students used child-sized shovels and rakes to break up the soil.

Mrs. Burns' class liked to help.

Mrs. Burns and Mrs. Bradford wrote grants to finance the garden. Madison County Soil and Water District provided funds for the plants.Nelson's PTO has also donated funds.

The teachers dig in to add peat, gypsum, and manure.

Raking in the additions to the soil.
