My Trip to the Zoo

By Madison

Yesterday we went to the zoo. I saw some monkeys. They were weird looking. Guess what I saw? some lions. Most of them were hiding. We saw some birds. I took pictures. When we went to the reptile place, I saw alligators and snakes. The alligators were huge. I saw snakes about 14 feet long. We saw two snakes that had shed their skin. It looked like they were in it. I saw two kinds of bears: some polar bears and grisly bears. The polar bears were swimming. The grisly bears were sleeping. Then we saw penguins. They were so cute. When we walked father we saw prairie dogs. We saw some lizards. They were in trees. It was almost time to leave. Then we saw some fish. I did not know what kind there were. When we were walking back we saw some giraffes. They were skipping along. I had much fun. I hope I get to go again.

What I Saw at the Zoo

By Haley

Guess what I saw at the zoo? I was with Katie and my mom. First we went to Rivers Edge. We saw an elephant. He was throwing dirt on his back to stay cool. Then we saw a hippo farther in Rivers Edge. There were three of them. The hyena was the next thing we saw. He was in his cave. He was cute. Then we saw a cheetah. It was eating. After that we saw anteater. It was a gray color, a black color and a white color. After that we went to Red Rock. The first thing we saw at Red Rock was a zebra. It had tons of stripes! Next we saw a camel. Katie named one Humphrey because his humps weren’t as big as the others and it was funny. Then we saw a giraffe. We saw the baby, too. I like the patterns on its coat. After that we went to lunch. Next we saw went to see the penguins and polar bears. The penguins stunk. It was funny when the polar bear looked like he was in a cold tub. At Cat Country we saw a snow leopard, tigers, and a puma. They were all sleeping. That’s what I saw at the zoo.

Do you now what I saw? I saw the King Cobra, and it was moving. Then I saw the most venomous snake in the whole wide world and it is called the rattlesnake. It lives in Mexico. Then we had to go bake to school.

Then I went in the Snake House and I saw lots of snakes, lizards, and big snakes. I hope you can go to the zoo and see lots of different things too.

Guess what? When I went to the zoo I was with Sydney, Mariah, and our chaperone was my dad. When we were all at the St. Louis Zoo we first started at the penguins. We saw a starfish and coral. Then we went to the bears. We saw a sun bear, black bear and a polar bear. Then we saw a zebra. My dad said, "Look, someone chased those animals around with permanent black marker." Then I think we went to see the big fat and chunky guys. That’s what Sydney calls the hippos. After that, we saw an elephant and it was washing itself. It was fun to watch the elephant take a bath. After that we ate lunch. When we were eating lunch we saw two pelicans and one peacock. Then we saw a giraffe and we got Sour Skittles. They were good. Yum, yum! After that, we saw a lot of flamingos. It was fun watching the flamingos. Then I think we saw some big cats. Here are some of the names of the cats: leopard and cheetah. That’s all of the cats I think we saw. Then we saw the baboon. Then we saw the prairie dogs. It was fun. After that we had to get on the bus. On the bus it started to rain. We got soaked. By Lauren

Guess what? Yesterday we went to the St. Louis Zoo. It was very fun. We saw a lot. We saw things you can’t imagine. One of them was some hippo poop. It was large! The hippo was big, too. We also saw the tiger Rachel adopted. He was so cute. He was sleeping in the shade. I saw a snake that was as long as me! It was green. I almost touched a pelican. When we were heading towards the elephants, we saw a Sun Bear. He was up in a tree. It looked like it was posing. We got a picture with us with the Sun Bear. He was posing still. We went on and saw prairie dogs. They are so cute! They’re so cute I want one as a pet. But they dig, that’s the bad part. Let’s talk about cats. They look cute, too. After a few minutes, I found a wooden canoe. I sat in it with Rachel. We started to sing" Row, Row, Row You Boat Gently Down the Stream." Mrs. Burns took a picture of me in it. Then when it was time to go, it started to rain. We got in the bus just in time. Sadie was sitting by the window. The window was open so she got soaked. We went back to the school and went home.

On the way to the zoo I talked to Evie and Briana because I sat by them. When we got to the zoo Erin and I went to find Mrs. Coad at the entrance area. Then we went to see the penguins, but they were closed because they were cleaning it. Then we looked at the grizzly bears. They were so cute. Then we saw the polar bears. One of them was playing with a little toy. There was also sun bears. One was in a tree and it looked like it was posing. Then there were prairie dogs. Two of them looked like they were kissing and one was digging. Oh, and there was a swan and she was sitting on her nest. Then she stood up and there were eggs. It was so cool. Then we saw flamingos. Then we saw the prairie dogs. They looked like statues. We saw flamingos that were standing on one leg. Then we went and saw the penguins. They stunk really badly! We wanted to go into the penguin house, but it was closed. So we went to the Ape House. There was this one ape that had cancer and it was bald! No hair! I felt sorry for it. Then there was this outside exhibit that had a gorilla in it. He was sleeping under the bridge. Then we went to Big Cat Country. All of them were sleeping. Then we had lunch. Marquise had a giant sandwich! We saw pelicans swimming. Then we went into the Bird House. It had some very exotic birds. There was this...this... thing on its beak that made it look like it had a visor on! Then we saw the okapi. They looked like brown horses with zebra legs! Then we saw the giraffes. There was a new baby giraffe! We saw the camels next. There was a new baby there, too! Then we went into the Reptile House. There were all kinds of reptiles. My mom liked the little orange frogs. They are poisonous to animals that try to eat them. We saw the lemurs then. They were so cute! Marquise wanted to see the elephants, but I wanted to see the seals. The elephants were to far away, so we saw the seals. They were so fun to watch. Then we had to meet at The Living World at 1:15. It took forever to find our bus. Then it seemed like a half an hour before the bus started moving! The bus ride back seemed shorter than the bus ride there. Rain was pouring down and my window wouldn’t shut. I was getting soaked. So Mrs. Burns told me to go sit with her and Chloe. She let me dry of with her jacket. I looked like I had just gotten out of the shower. Finally, we got all the windows shut and we all stayed dry. When we got back my mom signed me out. She signed my brother out, too. Our trip to the zoo had been very neat.

Let me tell you what I did when to the zoo! First I am going to start with the bus. When we were on the bus I sat by Evie and Kayla. We played a game called Tic, Tac, Toe. It is not like the game called Tic, Tac, Toe. Well, I forgot how to play, so I will skip on. So when we got off the bus we went to see the black bears. Then we saw the prairie dogs. They were posing for pictures. Then we went to see the leopards. They were all sleeping. I know why, because they sleep all day and hunt all night. They do this in the wild. In the zoo they sleep all day and then at night the zookeepers come out and give them their food. Then we saw zebras. They were eating grass. Then I spotted zebra poop. It was sick. Then we saw the camels. Then we saw the flamingos. Then we ate lunch. After lunch we went to see the gorillas. Then we saw the monkeys. One of the monkeys was bald! No hair! The monkey with no hair was beating on the window at a kid. Next, we went to see Polar bears. They were just posing for pictures. Then we saw the penguins. They stunk. Then we saw the seals. Then we saw the snakes. They were scary. Next we saw the turtles. There were baby turtles, too. Then we saw crocodiles. Next we saw the peacock. Then we saw the pelicans. They were weird looking.
