Preschool Academy :: Edwardsville School District #7

District 7 is pleased to begin accepting 2013-14 registrations for Preschool Academy, our full-day, tuition-based preschool program for children ages 3-5. Children must be 3 years of age on or before September 1 and must be toilet-trained. Registrations will be accepted for children who turn 3 after September 1 on a space available basis.

District 7 Preschool Academy is designed to give children ages three to five opportunities to explore, achieve, create, and discover in a warm and nurturing environment. Learning is guided and reinforced by caring teachers who are degreed and certified in Early Childhood Education.

This program, which is open to District 7 residents, will be staffed by certified early childhood teachers and paraprofessionals. District 7’s preschool curriculum correlates vertically with our elementary curriculum and provides a natural transition to Kindergarten.

Parents are responsible for their child’s transportation to and from school. The hours of operation will be from 9:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This program will run concurrently with the elementary calendar beginning in August 2013. A required Parent Orientation will be scheduled prior to the start of the program.

Preschool Academy families who need before and after school child care will have the option to enroll in District 7 Little Kid Zone for the school calendar year at an additional cost.

Enrollment for this program is limited. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
Preschool Academy Tuition is $150 per week, which includes lunch and snacks. No discounts are accepted for this program.
Optional: District 7 Little Kid Zone, Before and After School Child Care Program

Hours of operation are: 6:30-9:15 A.M. and 3:30-6:00 P.M.
A.M. only or P.M. only fees are $55 per week
Both A.M. and P.M. fees are $80 per week

Registration will begin February 4, 2013 at Hadley House.
Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
A $50 registration fee (non-refundable), and the first week’s tuition of $150 must be submitted with the registration form

Curriculum articulates vertically with District 7 Elementary curriculum and is aligned with the Illinois Early Learning Standards.
Authentic assessment and data based upon your child’s strengths and areas of need drive small group instruction.
Language and Literacy curriculum components emphasize the development of oral language, vocabulary, phonemic awareness, concepts of print and pre-reading skills.
Everyday Math, a preschool math curriculum, articulates with the District 7 K-12 mathematics curriculum.
Science components are experiential and hands-on in nature.
Cultural studies utilize geographical tools and foster an appreciation for our global community.
Performing and fine arts curriculum incorporates exposure to vocal and instrumental music, visual art, drama, and imaginative play.
Health and wellness education and fitness activities are provided.
Developmentally appropriate exposure to technology is provided.

Available 6:30 – 8:45 a.m. and 3:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Play-based experiences in art, language, literacy, music, and recreation
Staffed by Kid Zone Staff
Rates:

Before or After School child care - $55/week (Breakfast is available for purchase)
Both Before and After School child care - $80/week

Access to Full Day program on most days when school is not in session at no additional cost to Preschool Academy Students enrolled in Little Kid Zone
