Welcome Parents to the 2009-2010 school year!  I hope everyone had a relaxing summer and that you are as ready as I am to kick off another great year at Woodland Elementary. 

If you are new to the school, the Woodland PTO extends a warm welcome to all of you.  We want you to know that the PTO is here to answer your questions and help you get involved with the many volunteer opportunities at our school. 

To all of our returning families, the PTO would like to say THANK YOU for all of your hard work last year.  Whether you volunteered your time, sent in donations for parties, events or projects, or worked on a committee, your participation was greatly appreciated.  Our success is 100% due to the commitment and dedication of our volunteers. 

The PTO will be very busy this fall with our major fundraising effort, selling Entertainment Coupon Books.  Our sale ends Friday, September 11.  Please contact Christy Shuessler at 514-1327 with any questions or offers of help.  This fundraiser allows us to fund all the great programs we use to support Woodland Elementary year after year.  We truly appreciate the help and support we get from Woodland families on this effort.

Also, please take the opportunity in September to order your Woodland School Spiritwear.  We have updated the logo, colors, and styles this year.  Please turn your order forms in by Monday, September 14.    Please contact Sue Webb at 307-5422 if you have any questions.

Thank you to all the volunteers who have been working to help our school year get off to a terrific start, especially Laura Dietzen for organizing our efforts at Woodland Registration, Vicky Lammert for distributing the SchoolKidz school supply kits, and Kristian Hulme for serving a wonderful Staff Appreciation Luncheon on the first day of school.  As a result of everyone’s volunteer efforts, we are off to a great start!

Again, let me say welcome to the Woodland PTO!  It is going to be an exciting year at Woodland School.  Please feel free to call me with any questions, offers to volunteer, concerns or comments.    I look forward to meeting you and hope to see many of you at our monthly PTO meetings.  Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, September 9^th @ 7:00pm in the Media Center.
