38 Students Selected for Madison County Young Authors Conference

220 District #7 students in K-8th grade participated in the Young Authors program this school year. Of those participants, each classroom teacher selected books to be judged at the district level. After judging those entries, 38 students were chosen to participate in the 34th Annual Madison County Young Authors Conference to take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Granite City High School. 

This conference recognizes student authors for their successes in writing stories and poems. Approximately 350 students in kindergarten through 8th grade, representing both public and private schools throughout Madison County, will attend this event. Students who attend will participate in craft activities, experience a performance by award-winning author and storyteller Bobby Norfolk, have a chance to shop at the Scholastic Book Fair, and receive an award on stage for their outstanding writing. It will be a wonderful day filled with fun, laughter and celebration!
