Board of Education Approves Double Entry Construction
During their December meeting, the Board of Education approved secure entry construction projects for the summer of 2025 at EHS and Leclaire, Glen Carbon, Woodland, Hamel, Columbus, and Nelson elementary schools, ensuring enhanced safety for our students and staff. By the end of next summer, each building in District #7 will have a safe and secure double entry, as well as electronically controlled access for all staff. During the summer of 2024, the five schools with existing double entry vestibules (Liberty, Cassens, Goshen, Midway, and Worden) all received upgraded door hardware and access control software to begin functioning as a secure entry vestibule this fall. The new main entrance at Lincoln Middle also received a secure double entry vestibule as part of its new main entrance.
Including construction at Lincoln Middle School, that makes a total of eight buildings that will undergo significant improvements this summer.
