District #7 Introduces Elementary Chorus

District #7 takes great pride in its Choral Program, where its mission is to offer students top-tier musical training, enriching experiences, and a nurturing community in which they can thrive. Our talented students and dedicated teachers at both the middle and high school levels work tirelessly to create one of the premier choir programs in the state, blending strong music education with plenty of fun.

This year, we’re excited to introduce a new opportunity for our fourth and fifth graders: the Elementary Chorus!

Elementary Chorus will be an after school extra-curricular activity, taking place one day per week in the student’s home school. Each chorus will be led by either Brandon Hokeness or Nieccole Hillard, who already work in collaboration with our fabulous EHS Choir Teacher, Emily Ottwein, and our amazing Fine and Performing Arts department chair, Victoria Voumard.

In addition to the weekly rehearsals, each chorus will have a fall performance as a part of an in-school assembly, a spring performance as a part of an in-school assembly, and a spring evening performance for families.
