Illinois State Report Card Preview

Dear District #7 Families,  

Next Thursday, October 30, the Illinois Report Card data will be released from the 2024-2025 school year. The Illinois Report Card is a valuable resource that helps families understand how their child(ren)’s school and the district are performing. Released annually by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), it provides clear, easy-to-read information about student learning, school environment, and overall performance.  

Why It Matters:

• Parents and Families: Gain clear insights into school performance and opportunities for improvement to make informed choices for your child’s education.  
• Educators and Staff: Use data to celebrate strengths, identify areas for growth, and enhance teaching and learning.  
• Community Members: Understand how our local schools are performing and how you can support their continued success.  

Key Features of the Illinois Report Card:

• Academic performance and growth metrics
• Graduation and attendance rates
• School climate and student engagement data  
• Equity indicators across student groups 
• Summative designations (e.g., Exemplary, Commendable)  

Next Thursday, I will send a communication that highlights both our glow areas and our grow areas. Our glow areas will focus on the districtwide celebrations, those successes and achievements that reflect the incredible work happening across District 7. Our grow areas will highlight the data points where we see opportunities for continued growth and improvement as we plan for the 2026–2027 school year.  

This data helps us celebrate our successes, address challenges, and plan strategically for the future. It also empowers our community to engage meaningfully in our shared mission of empowering each student to achieve personal success.
