Congratulations to the EHS Winter Guard who brought home the gold medals and are the Scholastic A Champions for the first time in EHS History at Saturday's MCCGA Regional Championships.

EHS Named a Unified Banner School

Edwardsville High School has once again earned national recognition for its commitment to inclusion, being named a Unified Champion Banner School by Special Olympics Illinois.

Casey Stover

Inspired by her grandfather’s battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, EHS junior Casey Stover is taking on the role of a Student Visionary for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). She is leading a fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $50,000 to support cancer research.

Interim removed from titles

Edwardsville Community Unit Schools District 7 announced that the following principals will officially transition from interim to permanent roles, effective for the 2025-26 school year: Cole Kringlen at Columbus Elementary, Dr. Debbie Ried at Nelson Elementary, and Dr. Andy Williams at Woodland Elementary. Ali Hiller, interim assistant principal at Woodland Elementary, will also have her interim title removed.

Terese Marinelli named Goshen principal

Edwardsville Community Unit Schools District 7 has named Terese Marinelli as principal of Goshen Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year. Marinelli’s hire was approved Dec. 16 by the District #7 Board of Education. She will assume her role July 1, 2025.

2024 EHS Music All-State honorees

Congratulations to the 22 Edwardsville High School students who have achieved the distinguished honor of being selected for the Illinois All-State Student Festival, a premier event held in conjunction with the Illinois Music Conference.

While walking through the halls of Liberty Middle School, a display of student work caught my attention. Rachel Harris, an eighth grade Social Studies teacher at Liberty Middle School recently granted her students the power to use the magic of AI to transform abolitionists who lived several lifetimes past into futuristic superheroes. I was intrigued.

District #7 to Pilot New First View App

District #7 has been chosen by First Student to pilot their new FirstView 1.0 app, making us the largest district to test this updated platform ahead of its official launch in the summer of 2025.
