The Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 Board of Education met on Monday, April 7, 2025, in the Liberty Middle School Auditorium for its monthly work session.  

38 students were chosen to participate in the 34th Annual Madison County Young Authors Conference to take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025

The Edwardsville High School Winter Guard is making history. Last weekend, they became the program’s first Scholastic A Champions. But their season isn’t over yet.

The annual Tiger Town Consortium features performances by D7 orchestra students in grades 5-12.

Congratulations to the EHS Winter Guard who brought home the gold medals and are the Scholastic A Champions for the first time in EHS History at Saturday's MCCGA Regional Championships.

15 students participated in the District #7 Spelling Bee on Thursday, February 27 at Liberty Middle School.

Edwardsville High School has once again earned national recognition for its commitment to inclusion, being named a Unified Champion Banner School by Special Olympics Illinois.

Every year, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) honors educators across the state, and this year, two District #7 educators are among the recipients for 2025.

EHS Ethics Bowl team makes history!

The Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 Board of Education met on Monday, February 10, 2025, in the Liberty Middle School Auditorium for its monthly work session. 

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) has recognized 84 Edwardsville High School students as Illinois State Scholars.

Inspired by her grandfather’s battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, EHS junior Casey Stover is taking on the role of a Student Visionary for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). She is leading a fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $50,000 to support cancer research.

Recently, the Board met on a Saturday to follow up on progress of the phase 1 projects related to the April 2023 bond referendum and receive an update on the Transportation Study, including potential changes to school start times.  

The Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 Board of Education met on Monday, January 27, 2025, in the Liberty Middle School Auditorium for its monthly board meeting.  

The Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 Board of Education met on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the District #7 Center for Learning for their Board Retreat.  

District #7 will hold a Kindergarten Kickoff on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at each of its six primary schools.

Fox has served as interim principal at EHS since August 9.

During their December meeting, the Board of Education approved secure entry construction projects for the summer of 2025. 

Congratulations to the Lincoln Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team on their 2nd place finish at the IESA state tournament.

The Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 Board of Education met on Monday, December 16, 2024, in the Liberty Middle School Auditorium for its monthly board meeting.  

The 2025-26 school calendar is now available. 

Edwardsville Community Unit Schools District 7 announced that the following principals will officially transition from interim to permanent roles, effective for the 2025-26 school year: Cole Kringlen at Columbus Elementary, Dr. Debbie Ried at Nelson Elementary, and Dr. Andy Williams at Woodland Elementary. Ali Hiller, interim assistant principal at Woodland Elementary, will also have her interim title removed. 

Edwardsville Community Unit Schools District 7 has named Terese Marinelli as principal of Goshen Elementary School for the 2025-26 school year. Marinelli’s hire was approved Dec. 16 by the District #7 Board of Education. She will assume her role July 1, 2025.  

District #7 is grateful to the American Legion Edwardsville Post 199 for their generous donation of 50 winter coats for our students! 

Congratulations to the 22 Edwardsville High School students who have achieved the distinguished honor of being selected for the Illinois All-State Student Festival, a premier event held in conjunction with the Illinois Music Conference. 

While walking through the halls of Liberty Middle School, a display of student work caught my attention. Rachel Harris, an eighth grade Social Studies teacher at Liberty Middle School recently granted her students the power to use the magic of AI to transform abolitionists who lived several lifetimes past into futuristic superheroes. I was intrigued.

District #7 has been chosen by First Student to pilot their new FirstView 1.0 app, making us the largest district to test this updated platform ahead of its official launch in the summer of 2025.

Hamel Elementary and Midway Elementary reading specialist Amy Ferguson has been selected as one of Emerson’s 2024 Excellence in Teaching Award recipients.

68 EHS band, choir and orchestra students made the ILMEA D6 Festival by audition

The Edwardsville Community Unit School District #7 Board of Education met on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in the Liberty Middle School Auditorium for its monthly work session. 

While student and staff safety has always been a top priority for District #7, the past two years have found us expanding the number of resources available to schools. 

All 13 of District #7’s schools received a COMMENDABLE designation by the State of Illinois.

EHS senior Justin Dial and Lincoln 8th grader Lylah Liebheit were selected as the District's Students of the Month for September and were honored at the October Board of Education monthly meeting.

As wrestling season approaches, Lincoln Middle School coach Sam Mead is not only busy gearing up for the season but is once again organizing a coat drive.
